IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM OUR NEW PRESIDENT

To the Brits ‘n’ US Club Membership

First, I want to thank Danny McKay for taking the helm last year as president and treasurer of the club. Under his leadership, we had a great 2023. Next, I want to thank you all for electing me president for another year. I have the pleasure of being able to work with a great executive board to ensure we keep the momentum going to have another banner year. We started off strong in January with the AGM and sea shanties, and a very successful Burns Supper. Patty Olyarchik has already put together a full slate of events for this year, which includes Wine and Bingo on February 28^th at the Bacall Rec Center. In March we will have two events…single malt scotch whisky tasting on the 16^th, and senior highland games on the 29^th. So go to britsnus.club for information and to register for all upcoming events, or drop me an email at president@britsnus.club if you are having trouble registering online. Registrations are particularly important so that we can work with the recreation people to get the respective venues set up with tables and chairs, and to order food for certain events.

WHISKY TASTING EVENT

Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 6:30 P.M., Seabreeze Rec Center

“A Taste of Scotland”

A Single Malt Whisky Tasting Event and More!

“Uisge na Beatha” (Water of Life)

Come taste five extraordinary single malt whiskies from across Scotland.

Price also includes Scottish appetizers.

Glencairn Whisky Glasses are available for use during the event and can be purchased for $10 at the end of the program.

Instead of whisky, a “Take Me Along” ticket is available for craft wine from Once Upon A Vine, Spring Hill, FL

Brits ‘n’ US members - $55 for whisky and $40 for wine only

Non-members - $60 for whisky and $45 for wine only

HIGHLAND GAMES

Friday, March 29, 2024, 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM

Everglades Rec Centre Sports Field

Come join us for the 2024 Brits 'n' US Highland Games

Try your hand at our senior versions of the caber toss, sheaf toss, and stone throw…or just come and cheer on the competitors. There will be Lads and Lassies Divisions

An optional box lunch from Publix is available for $5 which includes a sandwich, chips, cookie and a beverage. When booking you will asked for a choice of either Ham & Cheese or Italian, also iced tea or lemonade.

Scottish shortbread cookies donated to the club by Walkers also available.

If you would like the box lunch be sure to register and pay online at britsnus.com, or else contact Buck Buchanan at president@britsnus.club

Guests are required to bring their own chairs as Pavilion seating is very limited.

Members, please wear your club badge and new members will be able to collect their new badges at these events
