This annual outdoor event was just what we needed as we emerge cautiously from the pandemic. What a treat to see those happy smiles again after a year hidden behind face masks!
The weather was kind and over 60 members and guests enjoyed the event in warm sunshine with a cooling breeze. The pipes and drums of the Sounds of Scotland set the tone with their rousing performance of traditional tunes, before the athletes, fueled on delicious Mission BBQ lunches, took to the field to compete in the events. Cabers were tossed, sheaves were heaved, and stones were putt, all with fierce but polite rivalry without turning into a “Braveheart in The Villages” skirmish.
Eventually prizes were awarded. The winners know who they are. The rest of us were happy just to have been there. Enjoy these photos …
